Novelists are taking up the torch as speculation increases and theories abound. From the field of science, the observation is purely clinical. On, or about December 21st of 2012, a celestial event will occur that only transpires every 26,000 years: the galaxy will be in total alignment. This may have dire consequences for our weather, and might drastically induce earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. No one really knows. It's safe to say the planet has endured previous upheavals and will probably endure once more.

We also don't know what the effect will be on the world's people. But scientists believe that after the 26,000-year cycle of the Mayan calendar, a new cycle will start and life will go on.

This concept is based on the thinking that The Lord conceived the universe in six days and relaxed on the seventh day. Spiritualists aver that Gods day comprises 26,000 human years. To calculate that, the entire life of earth would not even equal Gods six days would be to conclude that God wove his charm on continuous six days. With imminent commencement of this period on December 21st, 2012, people believe that humanity shall be welcoming this seventh day. This day of rest or Sabbath Rest would usher an era of tranquility for humanity.

Jesus will return to guide the human race, and war and sickness will be ended. Some people believe that the dead will come back, so that they may share in the good times.
